Spanish Update 2/21/2024
Saludos dear parents and guardians,
We are pleased to see the progress of the students in Spanish class, they have received well the
challenges they are having when applying the vocabulary learned and the topics already seen to the new
subjects they are studying.
This month the boys and girls are learning about family members; it is a good opportunity to practice
with them recognizing the members of their families. They are also reviewing the different domestic and
wild animals, they really liked talking about their pets in class.
Lastly, students are learning the parts of the house, these three topics blend together so they can
identify the rooms and dynamics of their homes. Students should also say where the furniture and
objects in the house are, using the prepositions of place seen previously.
Attached we leave you some links with short videos to review the topics with them, we also attach the
vocabulary learned this month and the curricular map.
Muchas gracias.
Sincerely, the Spanish team.

Spanish Update 10/20/2023
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope you had a happy holiday!
The students came back from the break very happy for having shared these days with
you. They told us about their vacation and how fun it was.
This month the boys and girls are learning vocabulary related to weather and the
seasons, they also learned to tell time in Spanish. You can ask them ¿Qué hora es?
(what time is it?) So you can practice at home and also review how to read the clock.
Students are learning the schedules and daily routine, things like getting up, brushing
their teeth, eating breakfast, going to school, etc.
Finally, children will know the main place propositions such as on, between, on top...
and the sizes: grande, mediano y pequeño.
We hope you have started the new year successfully.
!Feliz año nuevo!
Sincerely,
Spanish team: Señora Saenz, Señor Zapata y Señora Díaz.
Spanish Update 10/20/2023
!Saludos!
Dear TCCA families,
We have finished the first quarter and the Spanish team is pleased to announce that the overall work of
our students in Spanish class has been stunning. They have shown a lot of interest in the language and
we are CONTENTOS to hear the stories from many of them about how they have practiced in their
homes. This month we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, many of the kids told us that their families
have Hispanic ancestry and were excited to learn more about their origins. They learned to never give
up on their dreams like Ellen Ochoa, the first Hispanic woman to reach space, baseball player Roberto
Clemente, the first Hispanic to be in the Hall of Fame and Pablo Picasso, who from childhood dreamed of
being an artist.
The children also began to learn about Don Quixote de la Mancha by Miguel de Cervantes, one of the
main classics of Spanish literature, in the course of the classes they will learn more details about this
book.
We wish you a FELIZ start to autumn and motivate you to continue encouraging and practicing the
Spanish language in your homes.
!Muchas Gracias!
Sincerely,
Señora Saenz, Señor Zapata and Señora Diaz.
Bienvenido de Nuevo! 8/07/2023
¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español!
We are pleased to see the enthusiasm of our students for the Spanish class and we have
enjoyed listening to all their summer adventures, even knowing that some boys and girls went
with their families to visit Spanish-speaking countries. This is great because this year we will
emphasize the Hispanic culture.
We are also pleased to introduce our new Spanish teacher Mrs. Díaz. You can see her bio in the
school’s website:
https://www.treasurecoastclassical.org/about/faculty-staff
We want to take this opportunity to encourage parents to practice Spanish with their children
at home, including it in daily activities such as TV shows and songs. Also, to talk with them
about what they have learned in class.
During the first few weeks, the students have been getting to know each other and the
greetings, as well as the importance of learning Spanish. We invite you to explore more about
this topic with the video below:

We appreciate your support and communication as they are essential in your child’s learning.
¡Muchas gracias!
